Aurora is a character in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie and is one of the four Sprites of the Northern Lights.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie[]
She along with Twinkle, Sparkle and Glitter serve as the narrators of the film. She first appears along with the other Sprites flying around the North Pole and travel to the home of Blitzen and Mitzi who have just had a son named Rudolph and they witness his nose light up for the first time after he tumbles into a hay bale. They are then seen the next day when Blitzen and Mitzi show Rudolph around their village. They then appear a year later when Rudolph goes to school and are later seen at The Christmas Eve Launch.
Aurora and the other Sprites then appear years later before the start of The Junior Reindeer Games. The following night, Aurora and the Sprites find Rudolph (who had ran away from home), to quickly use her magic powers to make a rainbow shine in front of a cave (at which point, Rudolph got his attention to the rainbow, then he suggested to walk into the cave, and sleep there for the night). Later on, after Aurora and the Sprites see Rudolph's friend Zoey being in danger by Stormella, she, Twinkle, Sparkle, and Glitter tell Rudolph that Zoey has been kidnapped by Stormella and also teach him how to control his nose's light. Aurora is last seen singing the introduction to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer ( just like the beginning ) after Rudolph, Santa and the Flyers return home.
Aurora and the other sprites also appear in the film's novelisation Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: A Retelling of the New Animated Movie.
Rudolph Saves The Sprites[]
Aurora appears in the film's sequel book Rudolph Saves The Sprites where she and the other sprites are meant to perform their Northern Light Show to mark the start of winter, but have disappeared. After Santa and the Flyers fail to find them, Rudolph and Zoey set out to look for them and find them locked up, before Rudolph uses his nose's light to melt the bars.
He and Zoey discover that Stormella's penguin butler Ridley stole the sprites so they would perform their light show to Stormella since she's never been invited to Santa's Winter Celebrations.
At the end of the book, Aurora and the sprites perform their light show to the villagers (including Stormella) and spell out message saying "THANKS RUDOLPH".
